News Information and Sources: Home

This LibGuide provides students with news sources and tools to verify the information provided by said news sources.

Welcome!

This research guide is divided into two main pages.  The first page, "News Sites", offers a large number of links to different news sources, including databases, local newspapers, U.S newspapers, broadcast news, and news wire services.  It's where you want to go if you need to find news.

The second page, "Fact Checking Sources", addresses the spread of fake news or misleading information.  It provides some useful tools for identifying fake news, evaluating news and media stories, and online sites that can help you with fact-checking.  This is the page you want to go to for help evaluating news.

Remember, if you need assistance finding a particular news article, or determining if an article is credible, contact library staff at the Watson-Griffith Library.  We're happy to help!
