King David was a king of Israel sometime during the 10th-12th century B.C. He reigned started what is considered the Israelite golden age. His predecessor was King Saul and successor was King Solomon. King David was considered to be a man after God's own heart, but this did not make him perfect as one of the most well known biblical stories is David's affair with Bathsheba.
